Workshop Overview:
The goal of this interactive workshop is to help clinical staff identify the changes from the ASAM Criteria 3rd and 4th Editions and then to be able to implement the ASAM Criteria 4th Edition. Workshop participants will be able to identify at least 2 changes in the 6 Assessment Dimensions, and their corresponding new sub-dimensions within the ASAM Criteria 4th Edition. Workshop participants will be able to identify at least 2 changes in Continuum of Care of the ASAM Criteria 4th Edition. Workshop participants will be able to analyze how harm reduction, trauma informed care and cultural humility have been incorporated into the ASAM Criteria 4th Edition. Through the use of small group activities workshop participants will utilize a case study to determine level of care criteria and then make level of care recommendations in each dimension and level of care sub-dimension, using the ASAM Criteria 4th Edition’s new Dimensional Admission Criteria. Finally, participants will be able to utilize the Level of Care Determination rules to make a final Level of Care recommendation using the ASAM Criteria 4th Edition.
Workshop Objectives:
By attending this conference you will be able to do the following:

1. At the end of this course, participants will be able to identify two changes that have occurred in the six assessment dimensions in the ASAM Criteria 4th Edition.

2. At the end of this course, participants will be able to identify which ASAM Criteria 4th Edition sub-dimensions are only for treatment planning purposes and which sub-dimensions are for both level of care determination and treatment planning purposes.

3. At the end of this course, participants will be able to identify at least 2 changes in the ASAM Criteria 4th Edition continuum of care.

4. At the end of this course, participants will be able to define what a dimensional driver is, and list 2 reasons dimension drivers are used in the ASAM Criteria 4th Edition.

5. At the end of this course, participants will be able to practice using the ASAM Criteria 4th Edition to determine level of care placement needs for clients within each dimension and sub-dimension.

6. At the end of this course, participants will be able to practice determining the final level of care recommendation utilizing the ASAM Criteria 4th Edition’s new level of care determination rules.

How do I obtain my certificate of completion in a Webinar World?:
Certificates of completion will be awarded at the end of the workshop day to participants who meet our requirements. We will determine conference attendance through Zoom logs (as Zoom tracks when people enter and leave a conference), ensuring participants were attending during the entire conference. NOTE: You must use your own computer, if you and an office mate are attending the conference, do not surf off somebody else’s monitor because Zoom will state you weren’t in attendance. Your fillable PDF workshop evaluation will be emailed to you prior to the conference. Please fill out this evaluation and email it back to us at the same email address that sent you the evaluation. Credentialing Information:
This course is approved for 5 NBCC Clock Hours (LPC, LAC, LCADC, CADC, LMFT, LAMFT, LCSW, LSW) of continuing education (NBCC Provider #6532). NJ Social Workers: We have applied for approval from the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program.
Cancellation/Reimbursement Policy:
Valid requests must be received in writing/email within seven (7) days of course date. Late requests for this 1 day workshop can only bring in a substitute attendee or receive credit for a future workshop date. All refunds are subject to a $15.00 processing fee. If paid by credit card, an additional $4.04 fee will be assessed to cover the cost of PayPal processing charges on credit cards. Refund requests require 2-3 weeks processing time and will be issued as a check as is our policy.
Privacy Policy:
Advanced Counselor Training keeps all information private. None of your information will go out to any other vendors, marketers, or other 3rd party applications or programs. On-line sign-up is done via a secured, encrypted server and any hard copy information sent to Advanced Counselor Training is stored in a locked, secure location.
Grievance Policy:
Valid grievance requests must be received in writing/email within ten days of workshop date, or can be provided in person directly after the workshop. Every attempt will be made to resolve a grievance with a complainant at the time of the grievance. Advanced Counselor Training’s social work consultant will be involved in all grievance resolutions for social workers. Should this not be resolved, the complainant will be provided further grievance procedures to follow including contacting the Licensed Professional Counselor Committee at the Division of Consumer Affairs at (973) 504-6415, and/or contacting NBCC at (336) 547-0607, to report the nature of the unresolved grievance.
Any social worker not pleased with the complaint resolution provided by Advanced Counselor Training, LLC may appeal to the CE accrediting entity or their jurisdictional board. The State Board of Social Worker Examiners at the Division of Consumer Affairs can be reached at (973) 504-6495.
